Purple Patch magazine was founded by Geoff Stevens and Olive Hyett in 1976 and was going strong throughout 2011, having published its 130th. issue. It was open to submissions of poetry at any time on any subject, and from all writers, whether they subscribed or not. The magazine considered all subjects, but there were themed issues. They included: a dialect issue a surreal issue a cassette tape issue two Dylan Thomas issues a 50/60's Angry Young Man issue a Max Noiproix Memorial Issue a poet's first draft issue. It cost £7 for 3 issues in the U.K. European subscriptions cost £10 for 3 issues. U.S.A. subscriptions had special rates. Editor during those 35 years: Geoff Stevens
